A picture is worth a thousand words and a few pageviews! Seriously, pictures are very cool things to place in a blog post and people like to view them. Pictures that are on topic, help show how to do something or illustrate a point are even better. So, the next time you're making cupcakes, take a picture and add it to your recipe blog. Or show off an award you received!

As in the above example, you should post your thoughts when sharing a photo - unless you're doing Wordless Wednesday. A few words will help your readers post comments as they add to or disagree with your commentary.

And one more point: If you use keywords in your alt tags in your image code for your photo, it will enhance the SEO. That can bring in more readers. Mouse over the picture and note that I added the keywords ‘writing blog posts about pictures' to it.
