Invariably, you will have visitors who spend time at your blog and learn of your expertise. These visitors will know that you know thing that they need to know or want to know to solve a problem they are having. But, the answer to this problem may not be on your blog - yet. So, they'll ask you in your comments area or by email.

If you find you are answering your users questions in a comments area/email and your comment doesn't start with ‘see my blog post on' or doesn't end with ‘find that on my blog here', you need to do a problem solving blog post. Here are a few things your post should include:

  • The original question copied off of the comments area and edited for grammar, spelling and length.
  • Cite the source of your question, both the username of your visitor and a link to the blog post.
  • Answer the question - really. Don't go on and on, just answer it.
  • Seek other opinions, tips and advice from your community.

    Follow these tips and you'll be solving all of your visitors problems… well, maybe not all of them!
