How Mom Makes Money Online
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||
.) Moms understand the meaning of money. According to Kiplinger.com, studies consistently show that by margins of 60% or more, women tend to be the ones who pay the family bills and balance the checkbook. We know what money comes in and what money goes out and, wow, we are in charge of those family finances. We know what having money means for our family's budget.
.) Moms can multi-task. We moms can multi-task in our sleep. I'm not sure if I agree that men are not able to multi-task - I think they try not to on purpose - all I do know is that women can do this and moms are the experienced veterans at multi-tasking.
.) Moms are able to compartmentalize. Daily we have dinner ready, clean something, and take care of the kids. Those are different compartments with different tasks in them, but they're all a part of the big picture.
.) Moms see the big picture. How could we not when we are developing these little lives?
.) Moms have style. Believe it or not you have not lost your style. I know some of you are wondering. I don't care if you are reading this at noon on a day that you haven't taken a shower yet and your to-do list is a mile long. There is something within your line of sight that speaks to your style - either diva, urban, retro, glam, spunky, etc. While life may through fast balls at us, making us tired and needing a break, moms are never really without their style.
.) Moms have sticktuitiveness. According to the urban dictionary, this means a firmness of purpose; resolution. Yes, that would be us.
.) Moms have driving forces - that have the ability to drive them crazy. Our kids are the reasons we do what we do, right? So while we are blogging for our sanity, we are also blogging for those who test our sanity. Funny little catch-22, isn't it?
.) On the job training is a mom's modus operandi. It doesn't matter what you learn in books or in parenting classes, you learned how to take care of your family while doing it. That's on the job training at its best.
.) Moms are good at rising up to the challenge. Challenges are around every corner. Moms tend to meet them with a smile and a pat on the head. Think about it, one part of our brain is constantly thinking about our children's next move and how we can save them from hurting themselves or hurting our things. If that isn't being consistently challenged, I don't know what is.
.) Moms can work past the brain damage. Have you ever seen Bill Cosby's Brain Damage bit? It's too funny - and almost too real. (I've put a clip of it below for your entertainment. You have to watch both parts to get the full effect.) But the real point here is that we do remember when we had a brain/weren't sleep deprived/could think for 5 minutes without being interrupted. We have a working brain - and we know how to use it.
